The Old Days

Was looking through some old boxes today and found a photo album from 2005. It was from when I went on a trip to Paris with my highschool’s French class. I will have been 13 going on 14 at the time (I had my birthday there). It was such a good time, and I’m sure my old pals will still agree with me on that one. I remember the place we stayed – with PGL (website here) – they had that one awesome room which could sleep about 8 people. I had some of the best laughs of my life in that room and some amazing memories.

We said we’d always go back when we got older, same people and same place, but everyone’s become so distant now, which is inevitable. Nothing can beat memories anyway.

I Can Smell Christmas

Got caught by surprise earlier after walking into the living room and finding the tree up! My mother has always stuck by the rule of putting up the Christmas tree 12 days before Christmas, I didn’t realise how soon it actually is until the fat man comes!

I just wanted to share a little something with you all, because it makes me laugh every single year. We always have a “special” angel at the top of our tree for Christmas, the angel has been with us for a very long time. My older sister made it when she was just a nipper, she was in nursery when she made it which means I will have been a new-born or maybe not even here yet! That means it’s at least 20 years old. I’ll let you be the judge of it…

There it is. What do you think? Since I can ever remember, this has been the only thing to go on the top of our tree every single year.

I also want to stress that the things I added are the 3 latest projects I’ve done, and I’ll also be adding a lot of previous stuff in quick succession so I won’t be notifying you of them because your inbox will get spammed. So I’ll be making notifications only of brand spanking new models, that way it will be spaced out and won’t put too much stress on your inbox. I appreciate whoever subscribes because it shows your interest .

For my “Visual Studies” module at university I tried to depict a photograph of my kitchen in 3D. It took a while but got there in the end. Rendered using V-Ray and modeled in 3DS Max.

Here’s a 3D model of my guitar which has been in my possession for many years. I’ve had the guitar since I was around 10 years old. If the proportions look out of place, it’s because the guitar was built for a child. Rendered in Maxwell Render.

New Theme!

I thought I’d install a new theme for my blog and try to make it a little more portfolio-looking. I know it fails at fitting into that category at the moment, but once I actually get some work uploaded here there will be a nice little featured slideshow on the homepage which will fill the big gap you’ll currently be seeing.

WordPress themes are harder to edit than I thought; editing what’s available in the dashboard is very limited with this theme, so I’ve had to edit a lot of things in the PHP files themselves. I’ll also be changing the colour of the yellow/orange to something else in the near future.

Preparing for Japan

So, I will go to Japan in less than 2 weeks to spend Christmas with my beautiful girlfriend. My currency came yesterday and got me more excited about the whole thing! Japan is just an amazing place to be as opposed to England, I don’t know whether it’s because I’m so used to living in the UK or the things I see here are actually that bad. The people in Japan are so polite, it’s on another level. I’ll be back here on the 9th January along with my girlfriend! I’m too grateful she’ll fly back here with me.

I’ve had to kick out a lot of university work because of this trip. Spending Christmas away means I’ll not be able to do uni work for a few weeks, I’ve been trying to get ahead, which I think I kind of have. Nevertheless, there’s no point worrying, I’m going to have the best time ever there. My girlfriend and I have a lot of things planned and I’m looking forward to everything.

Hello Again

I decided to install WordPress since it will save me a lot of time coding another website. It’ll be beneficial as I don’t get a lot of spare time like I used to; commuting to university and the workload this year is unreal.

It also means I can keep you posted with personal information through the use of a blog as well as post my work in a portfolio.
